For the 2010 model year, BMW has given its X5 SUV a facelift, which will make its debut at the New York International Auto Show in April.
The facelift features only minor cosmetic changes, but BMW has given the X5 a whole new engine lineup for 2010, with a set of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines available for the popular Sports Utility Vehicle.
The new 2010 X5 gets reshaped front and rear bumpers with more body paint than black trim, revised head lamps and tail lights, and larger central and outer air intakes up front. New exterior colors, an updated iDrive system, and new alloy wheels complete the cosmetic changes.

Under the bonnet, the main changes that include a whole new range of turbocharged petrol and diesel engines available, as well as BMW’s eight-speed automatic transmission as standard. The entry-level xDrive30i has been replaced by the xDrive35i that is powered by a new turbo inline-six producing either 300bhp or 306bhp.
At the top of the range is the new xDrive50i with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 that develops either 400bhp or 408bhp, which replaces the outgoing 4.8-litre naturally aspirated V8.
There is a new xDrive30d for the diesels with a new 245bhp straight-six and the new xDrive40d with a revised 3.0-litre inline-six producing 306bhp, replacing the previous xDrive35d’s 286bhp unit.
