New Auto Design: Nissan EPORO Robot Car Concept

On Thursday, Nissan unveiled its EPORO robot car concept, which is designed to travel in groups with the behavior of school of fish to avoid the accidents.

This odd looking EPORO robot car concept will make its formal debut at the CEATEC Japan 2009 electronic technology show, which is starting on October 6, bears a striking resemblance to the Jawas in Star Wars.

The Jawas were a pygmy race that inhabited the desert planet of Tatooine. They were almost entirely covered in brown cloaks and had glowing eyes.

New-odd-looking EPORO robot car is available in variety of colors, including brown and pink and it also appears of having little eyes. According to Nissan, it’s a first robotic carwhich travels in a group by sharing the position and information of others within a group via communication technologies.

The Japanese automaker pointed the fish concept which can change the traveling direction without colliding with each other. The fish move side by side, that even keeping a certain distance between each fish.

According to manager of Nissan’s Mobility Laboratory, Toshiyuki Andou, in the world of motor, there is lot to learn from the behavior of a school of fish in terms of each fish’s degree of freedom and safety within a school.

EPORO robot car is not the first one, made by Nissan and it got inspirited from the nature. The Nissan BR23C or Biomimetic Car Robot Drive concept was inspired by the flight of the bumblebee.

Auto News: GM invites everyone to the Cadillac of Crossovers Test Drive Event

Cadillac, the America’s luxury car maker, is inviting the public to join for some test drives of its new 2010 SRX.

The 2010 SRX has been completely redesigned and features a chassis that is unique to the luxury crossover. The designers have incorporated enough bold body lines and creases to make it look muscular.

The rear tail lamps of SRX make one feel that Cadillac is bringing back the tailfins.

Current SRX models are available with either two or all wheel drive and are powered by a 3.0 liter VVT DOHC direct injection V6 that gets 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway, while a 300 hp turbocharged 2.7 liter V6 is scheduled to arrive soon.

The SRX has a standard Cadillac interior; everything from the brightly illuminated gauges to one of the most comfortable steering wheels on the market, the Cadillac of crossovers is top notch.

The dash is finished in leather with accented stitching, the doors are adorned with elegant wood trim and the seat mounted video screens look wonderful. One of the best features of the new SRX is the oversized sunroof that can trick you into thinking that you are behind the wheel of a convertible when it is open all the way.

Cadillac is also offering a dealer installed wireless router that has room for up to 5 internet connections and works up to 125 feet away from the vehicle.
