European-spec Nissan GT-R facelifted for 2010

Nissan has declared its new European version of the GT-R, along with its specification, which has been facelifted for 2010.

For 2010, the GT-R will be updated, including the tuned suspension with the front spring and damper rates adjusted for better ride comfort, and the suspension radius rod bushings at the rear stiffened to improve feel and responsiveness during cornering.

Nissan has changed the logic controlling torque distribution between the front and rear axles to reduce rear-axle “binding” while the GT-R is manoeuvring at low speeds. While driving in automatic mode, the downshift from 6th to 5th gear has been delayed but the shift from 4th to 3rd and 3rd to 2nd has been made more aggressive.

Facelifted Nissan GT-R have an additional two NACA cooling ducts to the carbon fibre underfloor diffuser for extra cooling to the exhaust and gearbox while a new, larger diameter pipe connecting the oil cooler helps to reduce gearbox temperatures.

Nissan GT-R’s other changes includes a stiffened front transmission mount to reduce vibration through the driveline under high-load conditions, an adjustment in the balance of the electronic brake-force distribution bias towards the rear to give greater braking stability, a redesigned rear brake cross spring for noise reduction and a modified air deflector to increase brake cooling.

The Nissan GT-R is now Euro 5 Emissions compliant. Nissan GT-R’s interior includes the rear seats get extra insulation for added refinement and the instruments get sport-gun metallic chrome surrounds.

The front and rear bumpers of Nissan get a double coat paint finish, and the GT-R also gets Nissan’s next generation audio and navigation system that features 40GB of memory space.
