Auto Ads: Gran Turismo PSP Features Corvette ZR1 Lapping Laguna Seca

Monday, October 5th, 2009

Gran Turismo for the PSP is unveiled officially, and Sony developer Polyphony Digital has officially released a cool advertisement to hype it. In that ad, it has shown the 2010 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 laps the famous Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California.

In the original advertisement, the posted blog on the official PlayStation, the ad shows Tanner Foust playing Gran Turismo PSP in the passenger seat of the ZR1 during its racing around the track.

While around the same track, Foust is piloting the ZR1 virtually as the real driver — and both of them successfully pass a Ford GT and Nissan GT-R in the process.

The PlayStations game from Sony developers features 800 cars and 35 tracks, which is available as a Universal Media Disc or 957MB download from the PlayStation Store for $39.99.

For Gran Turismo, at the 2009 Tokyo Game Show last week Sony announced that the game is slated for a March release in the Japan market.

Auto Release :2010 Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde

Friday, September 25th, 2009

The Italian automaker, Alfa Romeo, will unveil the MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde, which means four leaf clover.

The Quadrifoglio is powered by a turbocharged version of the 1.4 Liter MultiAir power plant and will put out a peak of 170 HP and will be able to sprint from 0 to 60 MPH in about 7 seconds, all the while returning 49 MPG and emitting just 139 g/km of CO2 emissions out the exhaust pipe.

The MultiAir engine features an outstanding weight/power ratio. The car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 7 seconds.

Other raft of features available includes the 17″ satin titanium-finished wheels based on the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione supercar. The same colour is used for the headlight frames and the wing mirrors, while the dark finish of the headlight parabolas is achieved by a brand new metal sublimation technology.

The MiTo Quadrifolio comes with the Dynamic Suspension system. The driver gets three benefits from the system: comfort, safety and agility. The system also ensures maximum grip and safety by actively responding to all road conditions.

The electric shock absorbers guarantee maximum comfort and ensure that the unevenness of road surfaces is fully absorbed. The other electronic systems include five accelerometric sensors, a control unit and an interface with Alfa DNA.

The Dynamic Suspension system also manages longitudinal dynamic control by adjusting the movement of the chassis during acceleration, braking and gear changes, and by integrating perfectly with the Vehicle Dynamic Control, steering and braking systems.

The MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde is also equipped with a C635 gearbox that is aimed to improve drive-ability, consumption levels and production flexibility.

Its appearance in the Alfa MiTo 170 hp 1.4 MultiAir TBi marks the debut of a modern family of gearboxes adapted for a broad range of models.
