Auto Show: BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team Launches 2010 Season at Sebring

BMW Rahal Letterman Racing Team is ready to take on the 2010 season of the American Le Mans Series at the 58th annual 12 Hours of Sebring on March 20th.

BMW has entered two M3s with a different combination of drivers this year. In the No 92 car they have drivers Bill Auberlen, Tommy Milner, and Dirk Werner and in the No 90 car they have Joey Hand, Dirk Muller, and Andy Prialux.

In this 12 hour competition, the drivers will be competing in the GT2 class. Last season, the Rahal Letterman Racing Team started off rough, but ended with 1 win, 5 more podiums, two poles, and 3 fast laps.

According to BMW of North American Motorsport Manager, Martin Birkmann, the team is ready for this race. “Gremlins struck last year at Sebring, but following a successful 12 hour simulation here in January and two excellent days at the recent Winter Test. Last year, the target was to take one checkered flag; this year the target is two.”

Auto 2010: 2010 Lexus IS

Lexus IS is offering a few new technologies and new optional packages for 2010. Offered in four trim levels, the 2010 IS goes on sale at a price starting of $32,145.

The 2010 Lexus IS is offered with a choice of two engines: a 2,5 liter V6 with a total output of 204 hp at 6,400 RPM and 185 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 4,800 rpm and a 3,5 liter V6 that delivers 306 hp at 6,400 RPM and 277 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm. Both are mated to an advanced six-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of safety, the 2010 IS offers: dual-front airbags and front seat-mounted side airbags, Lexus Supplemental Restraint System, Pre-Collision System (PCS), High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps with Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS), Intuitive Park Assist (IPA) and much more.
