Auto Edition: Mercedes-Benz unveils the M-Class Grand Edition

Mercedes-Benz has revealed the M-Class Grand Edition that features extra equipment for both the exterior and interior.

Addition to the exterior, Mercedes-Benz M-Class Grand Edition features include blue-tinted windows, darkened lighting units, an AMG grille, a powerdome hood and 19-inch wheels, while 20-inch options are also available.

Interior, Mercedes-Benz has equipped the interior of the M-Class Grand Edition with popular wood trim, ambient lighting, ARTICO synthetic leather upholstery, seat piping, an AMG sports steering wheel, and stainless steel pedals, while real leather upholstery is offered as an option.

Among the engine options available for the M-Class Grand Edition include the ML300 CDI BlueEfficiency with 201bhp, the ML350 CDI with 228bhp, the ML350 BlueTec that has 208bhp, the ML450 CDI that produces 302bhp, as well as the 268bhp ML350 and the range-topping ML500 which puts out 382bhp.

Auto Launch: Mercedes-Benz unveils the SLS AMG GT3 Race Car

Mercedes-Benz has wrapped off its SLS AMG GT3 race car that will be given a power boost and numerous weight saving measures.

The body of the car has been strongly reinforced and modified, with the front bumper getting a new large central intake and lower splitter, and other bodywork enhancements include canard air foils, hood, fenders with deep wheel well vents, huge side sills, a massive carbon rear wing integrated into the boot lid, fuel filler pocket in the quarter panels and rear bumper with a new diffuser.

SLS AMG GT3 race car’s interior has been stripped out in order to save weight and equipment such as the navigation system and air conditioning have been removed. It’s to be replaced by carbon fibre bucket seats and a centre console with an LED display instrument cluster, racing steering wheel, fire suppression system and roll cage.

The standard SLS AMG is able to produce 563bhp, and the GT3 version should be able to churn out around 592bhp.The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 will be officially launched in early 2011.
