Renault has unveiled the first details on a new international status-enhancing family saloon. The Renault Latitude will make its debut at the Moscow Motor Show at the end of August and its European debut will occur at the 2010 Paris Motor Show.

All-new Renault Latitude features bi- Xenon adaptive directional headlights, chrome insertions, LED technology, and a chrome rear strip. Standard equipment list includes a dual-mode air ionizer with double fragrance diffuser, triple-zone climate control, a massaging driver’s seat, Bose Premium audio, the Renault hands-free card, and apparently more options that have yet to be revealed. The vehicle will feature a length of 4.89 m, a width of 1.83 m, and a height of 1.49 m.

Other specifications includes that the engines choices will be announced at the auto shows in which the Renault Latitude will make an appearance. The Latitudes price has not yet been released.

BMW is busy working with a Megacity electric four seater, which will go on sale in 2013. Ian Robertson, BMW’s sales and marketing boss, said in an interview with AutoCar that the car will be available in more variants, including a sports car version. This could be inspired by the Vision ED sports car concept that unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but a duplication of it, according to Robertson.

The engine from the Vision Efficient Dynamic will be used if not the version of it is used. The Vision ED sportscar is powered by a three-cylinder turbodiesel engine combined with two electric motors, producing 356 hp and a peak torque of 590 lb-ft. It hits a top speed of 155mph and makes the 0-60mph sprint in 4.8 seconds. Fuel consumption is reduced to 75.1 mpg imp, while CO2 emissions are just 99 grams/km.

Stopping the airing rumors, Ian confirmed that the new model will wear the BMW badge and won’t be sold out under a separate brand; saying wants to have a strong sub-brand like M.

Main focus with the future Megacity model will be weight saving and to do that BMW will build it principally from carbon fiber. Using carbon fiber will allow for about a 30% reduction in weight from that of an aluminum car. However, if you were hoping for an inexpensive model, you can pretty much forget about it.

IN order to celebrate the 20oth anniversary of the brand, Peugeot is launching the new special editions of the 207 in the UK.

The Peugeot name was found out 200 years ago, and to celebrate the anniversary, Peugeot is introducing a Millesim 200 special edition for the 207. The 207 Millesim 200 is available for both the hatchback and SW estate models, with a choice of petrol or HDi diesel engines, and unique Millesim badges.

The 207 S trim level based the 207 Millesim 200 comes with extra equipment such as 15-inch alloy wheels, Peugeot Connect USB & Bluetooth, front fog lights, sports front grille with chrome detailing, colored coded side rubbing strips with chrome inserts and in the case of the estate model, aluminium roof bars also.

For the 207 Millesim 200, the choices of engines include: two 1.4-litre petrol engines that produce 75 or 95bhp, or HDi diesels with either 70 or 90bhp. The 207 Millesim 200 will go on sale in the UK in June, and Peugeot says it will throw in a free Nokia 5230 smart phone with inbuilt satellite navigation with free future updates and an in-car mounting kit for early bird buyers.

A new head of the family have been wrought by the wunderkinds in Wiessach in the form of the 2011 911 Turbo S, the first 911 S model in five years and the first for the 997.

The S Suffix in Porsche Parlance, in general, means more power and better handling, and this car appears ready to live up to the badge.

The twin turbo flat-six is boosted to 530 horsepower, but it sips the fuel at the same rate as the “base” Turbo’s with its 500-horsepower engine. All that power and 516 pound-feet of torque are transferred to all four-wheels- now 19 inches in diameter with center locking nuts-through Porsche’s seven-speed PDK dual clutch gearbox, and a torque vectoring system helps point the car directly where the driver wants it.

The 0-62 miles per hour should arrive in 3.3 seconds and top speed is pegged at 196 mph. and for comparison, the almighty 911 GT2 is slower to 62 mph at 3.7seconds, making the same amount of horsepower (530). But it beats the new 911 S at the top end with a 204-mph terminal velocity.

Next month at the Geneva Motor Show, both fixed and folding roof versions of the Turbo S will make an official debut. The Coupe will cost €173,241 including 19 percent VAT (the actual base price is €145,400), while the Cabriolet goes €184,546, also including the 19 percent VAT (base price €154,900). U.S. market models should follow soon after.

For the 2010 model year, Audi has given its TTS performance coupe and roadster a few updates with minor cosmetic changes.

The facelifted Audi TTS will be opened for sale later this year. Among the cosmetic changes, the updated TTS include the revised single-frame grille with its aluminium-look horizontal double bars and the bumper, as well as a new Panther Black body colour available, and a new silver and black two-tone interior option.

However, Audi has not given any upgrades to TTS in order to improve its performance, with the Coupe and Roadster still being powered by Audi’s 2.0-litre TFSI turbocharged and that produces 272bhp and 350Nm of torque.

It enables the TTS to go from 0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds, when equipped with the optional S-tronic Sports transmission. Top speed is electronically limited to 250km/h, while the TTS is also able to return a fuel consumption figure of 7.7 litres per 100km.

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd has made an announcement that the purchase of a majority stake in Bangalore based REVA Electric Car Co. Ltd. Mahindra owns 55.2% stake in REVA, which will now be known as the Mahindra REVA Electric Vehicle Co. Ltd.

This buy stake is evidence that M&M wants to electrify the Indian auto market, and “book” the segment before players like Nissan jump in.

Mahindra has on its own been working hard on developing eco-friendly technology, under its Sustainable Mobility Initiative. This has seen the development of green technologies such as the diesel hybrid Scorpio and hydrogen Alfa three wheeler.

Mahindra also launched a 1`00% BIODIESEL fleet which has now grown to about 50,000 vehicles. The company is also currently working on an electric version of its Maxximo mini truck. REVA’s EV technology will now be adapted for M&M vehicles.

Currently, REVA is marketing its products in 24 countries across the world with an overall vehicle population of over 3,500 units, claimed as the largest EV fleet globally. Introduced in London in 2004 under the G-Wiz brand, REVA premiered its next generation electric car models, the NXR and NXG, and the REVive remote emergency charge system, REVA’s unique proprietary technology, at last year’s Frankfurt show.

The Mini Beachcomber, revealed at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, will actually make it to production. The Concept was built to only to preview the Countryman Crossover, but the Beachcomber turned out to be a great success and so onward it goes.

The Beachcomber Concept also gave up two doors to pay tribute to the original Mini beach buggy, the Moke. The original Moke was built between 1964 to 1993. The Beachcomber has a metal, body-colored grille, only this time the designers have inserted driving lights.

Off-road ability is enhanced by higher ground clearance than the Countryman, as well as chunky tires. Plus, the new ALL4 four-wheel-drive system is likely to be included as standard.

The production version of the Beachcomber will have almost no competitors on the market and as for its name Mini said the company needs original names.

Seat UK has announced the launch of the special edition Exeo Tech and Exeo ST Tech (the Spanish version of the Audi A4), which is joining the existing Exeo models versions; S, SE, Sport and SE Lux.

The new SE Tech and Sport Tech models will be available with a DVD-based color screen satellite navigation, BOSE premium audio upgrade, luxurious black leather upholstery, and an iPod connection in lieu of the standard glove compartment-mounted USB port.

Additional equipment is worth 3,270 pounds, but is available to the consumer for the bargain price of 875 pounds (over the standard SE or Sport models).

The Sport tech package will be available for both sedan and station wagon versions and will be offered with a choice of two 2.0-turbo diesel engines (143HP or 170HP). Prices range from £21,270 for the SEAT Exeo 2.0 TDI CR 143 HP to £24,175 for the SEAT Exeo ST 2.0 TDI CR 170 HP Sport Tech.

The 2011 Bentley Mulsanne is another expensive car, but refocus it ones- its launch becomes a rare occurrence indeed.

This all-new 2011 Bentley Mulsanne is the first car designed from the ground up solely as a Bentley since the 8-litre of 1928, and it is meant to represent all the Bentley stands for. It succeeds the last went out of production last October, the 2009 Arnage, as the marque’s largest sedan.

The Mulsanne was revealed first at the Pebble Beach Concours d-Elegance in August last year, and the deliveries to the first customer will start this fall. The Mulsanne is built and trimmed at the traditional Bentley factory in Crewe, which was renovated for the new luxury sedan.

The new 2011 Mulsanne is a fast, luxurious, four-door sedan that hides a fair amount of modern technology inconspicuously within a classic recipe. It provides drivers with a “stately, dominant feeling,” and it is meant to rule the category of ultra-luxurious four-door sedans. But it does so quietly, in a slightly understated way. As the Brits would say, the Mulsanne isn’t flash. It’s just big, and handcrafted.

That makes it entirely different in spirit and presentation from such new entries as the Porsche Panamera and Aston-Martin Rapide.

Bentley is in the auto-production (cars) since 1920s, and the Arnage owners were quite clear to team-up with Bentley that has maintained the traditional values- a huge low-revving V-8 engine providing a “wave of torque” in a hand-built four-door car with an interior crafted of woods, leathers, and metals-and were willing to pay for it.

The U.S. price starts at $275,000, plus a $2,595 delivery fee-and options will add up quickly.

Only 800 Mulsannes can be built each year at full production. That compares to several thousand of the more modern Continental series, with its turbocharged W-12 engine and all-wheel-drive.

The new 2012 BMW 6-Series Coupe and Convertible is not ready to arrive in showrooms till the earliest of the next year as the current model was only given its mid-cycle facelift a little over two years ago.

However, the prototypes of the new car are already being tested in Europe and several shots have been captured by spy photographers on several occasions testing near BMW’s headquarters in Munich or around the Nurburgring circuit.

With the comparison between the spy shots of the Coupe and the latest shots of the Convertible, several clear differences can be noted out. The rear side windows are a different shape on the two cars, the roof profile is also slightly different and the rear window on the Coupe is slightly wider than the one on the Convertible as well.

According to this, BMW is preparing two separate 6-Series models unlike what it did for the latest Z4 Roadster, which now only comes with a folding hard-top roof. BMW will sell both a 6-Series Coupe and a 6-Series Convertible with a conventional soft-top roof.

And the current 6-Series has proven to be a sales success, with numbers averaging just on 20,000 units per year. The spy shots reveal a much sleeker look and a wider, more purposeful stance.

Interior, the new 6-Series will feature plenty of luxury appointments as well as an eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle-shifters. The current engine lineup is expected to carry over relatively unchanged, but there’s chance that the range-topping M6 model may not be replaced as BMW is planning a new standalone high-end sports car to fill that segment.
