Auto Edition: Kicherer E50 Coupe

Thursday, March 11th, 2010

The German tuner Kicherer has unveiled the E50 Coupe tuning kit based on the Mercedes E500 coupe. With the help of software update and a sports exhaust system, the V8 engine’s power has been increased by 42 hp and 20 NM. In the standard model, the top speed has been limited to 155 mph, in the tuner version it goes up to 205 mph.

Aerodynamics kit includes: a front lip, side skirts, a rear diffuser and special mirror casings. All components are made of top quality and ultra-light carbon. The car sits on 20 inch wheels.

With 388 PS and 530 Nm torque it’s the currently most powerful production model coupé that the company can offer its customers. At the rear both eye and ear can delight in every sense in a lovely exhaust system. On the one hand it is convincing with its modern, almost rectangular tail pipe design and on the other hand it produces an exciting but not obtrusive sound.

At the elegant side, the coupe is perfected by the sportily filigree Kicherer RS-1 20 inch wheels, behind which you get hints of the braking power of the 6 and 6 piston high performance brake system. With its composite discs and modified flexible steel tubes this ensures a suitable negative acceleration.

Interior, with its interior elements and entry strips in epoxy resin laqueur complements the outer appearance of the Kicherer E50 Coupé. Thus Kicherer has been able to create an almost perfect balance between dynamism and elegance.

The Aston Martin DBS has been tuned with a new package by the tuners Edo Competition, with modification to increase its power output.

Edo Competition has given the DBS include revised ECU software, a new exhaust system, special catalytic converters, and high flow air filters. As a result, the car now produces 542bhp and 600Nm of torque, an increase of 32bhp and 30Nm from the standard car. This allows the DBS to go from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds, and reach a top speed of 320km/h.

According to Edo Competition, it comes with a programmable control system that monitors backpressure inside the exhaust and opens the 70 mm butterfly valves when a pre-determined level of backpressure is exceeded. The unique advantage of this system is that it provides good torque at low engine speeds without sacrificing top end horsepower…The driver can adjust the sound of the DBS at any time using a remote control.”

Among other modifications that Edo Competition has equipped the DBS with include a high performance brake system, 21-inch wheels, and an adjustable sports suspension, which can vary the ride height, spring compression and rebound damping.
