Volkswagen has revealed the new Phaeton at Auto China 2010 in Beijing. The new luxury sedan features Volkswagen’s new design DNA, meaning a new Front section with a new chrome grille, restyled headlights, three-dimensional mouldings of the grille and bonnet, new Bi-Xenon headlamps.

Rear of the car has been also redesigned and gets new LED rear light clusters, a new, three-piece chrome bar, modified side trim strips, narrower LED indicators in the wing mirrors and new 18-inch (‘Experience’) alloy wheels.

The 2011 Phaeton will be offered with a choice of two wheelbase options, two back seat versions (three seats / two individual seats) and four engines (a turbo diesel and three petrol engines). The engine line-up will include: a V6 petrol engine delivering 280 HP, a V8 with 335 HP and a W12 with 450 HP. The diesel engine is a V6 TDI with 240 HP.

The luxury sedan will be offered with Dynamic Light Assist (camera-based dynamic main beam regulation) and a navigation system that, if desired, can integrate online data from Google into the map display.

Volkswagen Kai-Nalu is the design work of the young designer Josep Ferriol, Spain as part of his graduation thesis. Ferriol’s Kai-Nalu represents the Volkswagen of the future and features an unique composed of two distinctly different elements: the waves of the Mediterranean sea and the rocks on the sea side.

Upper section, the flowing glass represents the sea and the angular bodywork underneath represents the rocks of the coastline. The concept sits on wheels inspired by the bicycle wheels.

Volkswagen Kai-Nalu was designed to use an electric powertrain composed from two separate engine: one is mounted up front and the other at the rear.

During this past weekend, you might have attended the Special Import Car Show where all of the attention grabbed by the car: the Veilside Premier 4509 Limited.

The Lamborghini Murcielago is painted in matte dark gray, which include the headlamps. It sits on a height adjustable air suspension from the Japanese brand Roberuta.

Exterior, the kit includes; a full front and rear bumper replacement, sideskirts with a rear wing and rear diffusers inspired from the LP640 Super Veloce. Being close enough, you can get a peak at the twin exhaust tips sneaking out of the negative space in the middle of the rear bumper.

Thanks to the addition of Nitrous Oxide, the supercar also gets some power updates, but there is no word on exactly how much HP you’ll get. The Veilside Premier 4509 Limited was limited to only 300 units worldwide.

Chevrolet has released a new LTZ trim level for its Captiva off-roader in the UK, which sits at the top of the Captiva range and offers added equipment.

All new Captiva LTZ is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo diesel that produces 150bhp and is available with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The seven-seater Captiva LTZ also comes with 18-inch alloys and unique rear light clusters.

Among the equipment, the Captiva LTZ include full leather trim with heated front seats, electronic climate control, parking sensors, cruise control, electrically-adjustable driver’s seat, automatic headlamp control, rain sensor wipers, and electrically-folding mirrors.

In addition, Chevrolet has also fitted park distance sensor that assist the parking, as well as a reversing camera, which operates through the 7-inch satellite navigation unit display screen. Safety features include ABS, ESC and traction control, front and side airbags for the driver and front passenger, plus roof curtain airbags.

Skoda has tuned most of its range powertrain upgrades, with all new engines and transmission for the Yeti, Octavia and Superb models.

The Yeti crossover gets a new 1.4-litre TSI petrol engine from the Volkswagen Group that produces 122bhp and comes with a manual transmission and front-wheel-drive.

For the Yeti, the other new powertrain options available includes a 2.0-litre TDI CR DPF turbo diesel with 140bhp, front-wheel-drive and an automatic DSG transmission, as well as a more powerful version of the 2.0-litre TDI CR DPF turbo diesel that produces 170bhp, and comes with a manual transmission and all-wheel-drive.

Meanwhile, the Octavia gets the same 170bhp 2.0-litre TDI CR DPF turbo diesel unit that replaces the existing 2.0-litre TDI PD engine that gives out the same horsepower. This new engine on the Octavia comes with a choice of several transmissions, with both manual and DSG automatic options and front and four-wheel-drive versions.

And the flagship Superb luxury sedan and estate models is going to get a new 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine sourced from Skoda’s parent the Volkswagen Group. This new engine puts out 200bhp, and comes with a six-speed DSG automatic gearbox.

Volvo is set to reveal its all-new five cylinder 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine as well as a revised version of their six-cylinder petrol engines.

The new five-cylinder 2.0-litre turbo diesel is replacing the existing 2.4-litre diesel, and will be available throughout Volvo’s range of cars, in three versions. In the S80, V70, XC70 and XC60, the unit will produce 163bhp and 400Nm of torque, and will be labeled the D3.

The new engine will be made available in the C30, S40, V50 and C70 models with two different guises, along with the D3 version producing 150bhp and 350Nm of torque, and the D4 variant churning out 177bhp and 400Nm of torque. All versions of the new 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine come with either six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox.

Volvo has also upgraded two of its petrol engines, with the 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged T6 unit now producing 304bhp and 440Nm of torque, and the 3.2-litre six-cylinder naturally-aspirated engine now featuring an improved crankshaft and less internal friction and now puts out 243bhp and 320Nm of torque.

Volkswagen has revealed its Golf Blue e-motion concept car, which is an all-electric version of its Golf hatchback.

The Golf Blue e-motion, which is fully electric, features an electric motor that produces 85kW and is powered by lithium-ion batteries. The motor is good for 270Nm of torque, while the battery pack allows for a range of 150km. Top speed for the Golf Blue e-motion is 140km/h.

Volkswagen will produce a fleet of 500 Golf Blue e-motions over the next year for testing purposes. The Wolfsburg-based carmaker intends to put the car in full production by 2013, after the Up Blue e-motion, and there are also plans for a Jetta Blue e-motion model.

Around millions of electric vehicles are intended by the German federal government, headed by Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel, on the roads of Germany by 2020, and Volkswagen plans on becoming the biggest player in that segment.

According to Chairman of Volkswagen, Dr. Martin Winterkorn, the future electric cars give us enormous opportunities for reshaping mobility to be even more sustainable, but the federal government must ensure that eco-friendly energy sources are utilized. Only then the genuine transition will be experienced to a new era.

Nissan has collaborated with Brock Racing Enterprises for the 370Z BRE Edition, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Z-Car’s first American national championship.

Under the hands of Peter Brock and Brock Racing Enterprises, Nissan’s Z-Car debuted in 1969, with the 240Z, and in 1970, won the SCCA National Championship at Road Atlanta, with John Morton at the wheel.

In order to commemorate the 40th anniversary of that victory, Nissan is about to come up with a special edition 370Z BRE Edition. The 370Z BRE Edition has been tuned by NISMO and features the famous BRE livery of red, white and blue.

The 370Z BRE Edition has been built to current SCCA T2 race car regulations, and will be fielded in the championship later this year. Nissan will also showcase the car at various ‘Z Club’ events around America, including ZCon 2010, the annual Z convention, from July 28 to August 1 in Nashville.

Panoz Auto Development have released a teaser image as a little taste of what’s to come when the Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mans” supercar debuts at the world famous 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race.

Abruzzi “Spirit of Le Mans” is inspired from a classic era when racers would literally drive their own cars to Le Mans to compete and then drive back home. However, the technology of the Panoz Abruzzi ’Spirit of Le Mans’ is absolutely leading-edge.

The supercar will feature a new body made from a Recyclable Energy Absorbing Matrix System (REAMS) which provides many environmental, performance and structural advantages.

Panoz Auto Development will also utilize a new three-stage “TRIFECTA COOLING” technology, as this “Trifecta” is an innovative development that improves both engine performance and efficiency. In addition to a typical high-efficiency radiator, there are stage two and stage three cooling systems that lower coolant temperature on both the inflow to and the outflow from the radiator.

Skoda has started of full production of the facelifted Fabia supermini at Volkswagen’s Russian plant in Kaluga.

Fabia Supermini is the second facelifted Skoda model after the Octavia to be produced at the Volkswagen Group’s Russian factory in Kaluga, following the Czech automaker’s announcement of the commencement of full production.

The full production includes processes such as welding and painting, and the Fabia will be produced at the Kaluga plant which was opened by the Volkswagen Group in November 2007. The factory has a planned production capacity of 150,000 cars a year.

According to Petr Janeba, Head of Skoda Russia, the Skoda Fabia is such a popular vehicle in the Russian market and now the second all-Russian car of Skoda’s brand. The 2010 Fabia is expected to go on sale in Russia by May 2010.
